The overhead PA was paging Dr. Smythe to Post-Op and where was Dr. Yao? Everything about a hospital seemed to be white and sterile, even the air smelled like it had been scrubbed with alcohol disinfectant just to be safe.
Lying on a hospital bed, Jackie appeared to be resting comfortably...as comfortably as one could look with a tube down their throat and various other tubes taped and stuck in them. Her breathing was rhythmic with the machine next to her, her vitals showing up on a screen off to the side. The doctor had said it was touch and go for awhile, but she was "stable"...whatever that means.

ooc: spin off of a fic and thread with [livejournal.com profile] dial_a_psychic but open to others if they want to visit her in the hospital :)

"Which SUCKS by the way." She rocks back and forth on her heels with her arms crossed, looking off to the side. Being ghostly bites. "If they start feeding me through a tube, I'm gonna gag by virtue of association."

She shakes her head no. "I thought David McCallum was the Invisible Man?"

"I know, right..." He mumbles as he holds the door to the garden open for her. Which after a few seconds he realises it's stupid, considering she can now walk through stuff.

He shakes his head too, then sticks out his tongue at a kid who's giving him a weird look. What? Doesn't he have like real invisible friends? That's surely lamer than having real invisible cousins.

"Kevin Bacon was the smart one. And creepy/screwed up one."

Cools her sarcastic jets for a moment, she forgot this is hard on him too. "...m'sorry...about all this..."

"....isn't that like...every role Kevin Bacon has ever played? Besides...David is a whole lot cuter."

Shrugs it off, it's not her fault she's a step from getting her wings and white robe. ....He guesses. "Do you have any idea why someone... tried to wipe you out of the map?" Change the subject. Good. Focus on something.

"Point taken, missy." He nods in agreement. "But at least Kevin did what any real invisible guy would attempt..."

Dude, wings and white robe, she could hover and fly and stuff.....no wait, don't think about that just yet. "Oh I dunno...think it might have something to do with the fact I'm in the same family as a certain psychic detective?"

She has to facepalm at that. "....women's locker room?"

He takes a deep breath and then slowly puffs the air out. No. This isn't his fault. There's no reason to feel guilty at all. He didn't created psychos. Not his fault. Nope.

He shrugs, shooving his hands in his jacket's pockets. "I don't know, you could have been involved in drug trafficking or something. I haven't seen you around the last weekend."

"Bing-bing-bing! We've got a winner!" He says as he stabs the air with a finger.

"....seriously? That's what you're going with? That I've been pushing drugs on the unsuspecting public of Santa Barbara??" She pauses for a moment as if remembering something.
"Wait a minute...I have that jury duty thing this week. I mean, I think it's this week."

"I can't really blame you, it's a very common problem and it happens in the best families. Ironically, ask Mr Douglas about it...."

The jury duty comment suddenly distracts him from a very proffesional inspection of a very young, almost underage looking nurse helping out an od woman in a weelchair. It's almost a crime, but he has to force his eyes to look away in order to concentrate for a second. "Jury duty? Seriously?? And you almost forget about that little fact?"

She crosses her arms indignantly. "It's been a BUSY DAY. Ok? And it was some random shooting case, I don't remember much about it because we hadn't started yet." Jackie pinches the bridge of her nose with a sigh....wishing she didn't feel so tired all of the sudden.
